Statistics: Russia’s inflation at zero in January 26–Monday
MOSCOW, Feb 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s inflation stood at zero from January 26 through Monday for the first time since September 2020 and reached 0.7% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
Prices for eggs decreased by 0.2% on average, while prices for sunflower oil fell by 0.5%, and sugar prices went down 0.6%.
Flour prices remained flat in the period, while prices for rice fell 0.2%, for buckwheat increased by 0.1%, and for millet went down by 0.5%.
Vodka prices increased by 0.2%.
Fruit and vegetable prices rose by 1.6% on average in the period. Tomato prices rose 1.9%, cucumber prices jumped 6.9%, potato prices rose 1.5%, cabbage prices by 1.3%, onion prices by 1.5%, carrot prices by 2.4%, and apple prices by 0.1%.
Automobile gasoline prices rose 0.2% and diesel fuel prices increased 0.1%.
